Organic agriculture is a method of agricultural production that is based on the use of sustainable, natural practices and the avoidance of chemical pesticides and artificial fertilizers. The goal is to create a balance between food production and environmental conservation, promoting biodiversity and animal welfare. Organic agriculture also focuses on reducing environmental impact and promoting consumer health, using natural cultivation techniques such as crop rotation, biological disease control, and plant nutrient diversification.

In recent years, organic agriculture has seen an increase in demand from consumers concerned about food safety and the environmental impact of conventional foods. It is increasingly referred to simply as “organic” or “bio”. However, organic agriculture remains a niche in the agricultural world and only represents a small portion of total food production. Nevertheless, interest in organic agriculture is growing in many countries and is expected to continue to grow in the coming years.
