“Zero emissions” is a phrase that refers to the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to zero in order to mitigate the effects of climate change.

To achieve this goal, it is necessary to transition to renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, and geothermal power, as well as to reduce the use of fossil fuels such as oil, coal, and natural gas. This can be achieved through the adoption of policies and technologies that promote energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, and waste management, among other things. The ultimate goal is to achieve a balance between emissions produced and those removed from the atmosphere through absorption processes, such as plant photosynthesis or ocean absorption.

Achieving zero emissions must not only involve a transition but also, and above all, a reduction in consumption and energy efficiency. It must involve all sectors, including digital sustainability, by improving infrastructure and servers as well as making websites more environmentally friendly.
